Successful SEO for a Midlothian horse transporter

25th June 2013

At the start of the year we met Gavin Jamieson, a horse transport company based in Midlothian. We had created a  new website for him, and now it was time to make sure it would appear in a good position in Google and generate leads.

To get him to rank well, we focused our activity on three main activities: on-site optimisation, content marketing (blog posts) and Google local optimisation.

Did our approach work? Yes, absolutely! Not only will you see Gavin rank in a top 3 position for a number of keyphrases including ‘horse transport’, the conversion rate on his website is at an all-time high: 11.5%! And conversion rate through organic traffic is even higher at over 13%! Not bad, because Gavin receives 60% of his site traffic from Google.

What this means for Gavin’s business? Just in the month of May, 98 people filled out his Enquiry and Contact form. In addition, he receives a large volume of phone calls every month from people who found him through his site. His business is thriving, and a lot of that is thanks to SEO.
