Why they came to us
You all know the song, but do you know the excellent work the YMCA does?
YMCA Scotland is an established Christian charity committed to the development of local YMCAs in facilitating opportunities for young people and communities of all faiths.
Built around our simple and easy to use content management system
They are a leading youth work organisation, developing innovative policies and practice and needed an online presence that would showcase its values, work and commitment to the above. They felt their existing website was outdated in branding, functionality and didn't represent the forward thinking attitudes of the organisation today.
What we did for them
Crush designed a new website that was built around our simple and easy to use Content Management System (CMS). YMCA were given the ability to update the sites pages, manage podcasts, upload videos, manage news and blog articles and supervise the profiles of the other 34 local YMCA organisations found on the site.
As YMCA Scotland is a charity based organisation, ensuring the website was profitable was a huge part of the brief. Online donation links were placed in key call to action areas and a simple, functional eCommerce shop was integrated into the site and CMS meaning YMCA have total control.
To bring the collective leaders of each local YMCA together, Crush designed a private members area for which each YMCA member would be given password protected access. This area is where resources are uploaded assigned to members. There is also an events listings system, built in calendar system and the facility to comment and post on key topics for conversation.
How the case continued
Ongoing training on the capabilities the website can offer YMCA, along with the creation and implementation of a targeted online marketing strategy including email marketing, have lead to: an increase in awareness of what YMCA does, what YMCA offers and an increase in online revenues.
